Product/Technical Questions
What are the optimal system requirements to run Resume Companion?
Resume Companion looks and operates best in Firefox 3.5+, Internet Explorer 8+, and Safari. Like all modern websites, JavaScript must be enabled for Resume Companion to run properly.
I'm having trouble opening my resume in Microsoft Word
If you don’t have Microsoft Word 2007+ installed on your computer, you have several options.
If you have Microsoft Word 2003 or below, you can download the compatibility pack from Microsoft for free here:

If you wish to open and view your resume as it would appear in Microsoft Word, you can use Microsoft View 2003, which is free and available for download here:

I'm having trouble printing my resume
To print your resume you will need to have a PDF reader, such as Adobe Reader installed. Adobe is pre-installed on majority of computers but you may need to update your copy. Please download it here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
The PDF copy of my resume is missing characters
You are running a incompatible PDF reader version. This is most common on specific versions of Mac software. Make sure to use the latest version of Adobe PDF Reader, available for download here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
I'm having diffulty downloading my resume to my computer
Each web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome) handles downloads from the internet slightly differently. Custom settings may also have altered the way files are downloaded. Check with your specific browser on where files are being downloaded to. This can usually be found under your browser's options -> downloads menu.
How can I import my updated resume into Resume Companion?
Unfortunately we currently do not support MS Word file import. With the custom edits you made to your resume/cover letter you will not be able to replicate that entirely in Resume Companion. You can, however, copy most of it into Resume Companion by copying and pasting into the Resume/Cover Letter Builder. I highly recommend this so you always have a digital copy. So if you switch computers or lose your local computer files, you will always have a copy of it on our website.
What if I can’t find my occupation in your database?
If you cannot find your occupation in our database try expanding your search or try using our browse feature to find related occupations. If you sign up as a pro customer we will assign to you a certified resume writer who can personally assist you in locating and writing phrases for your resume.
